✨Folklore✨
I specifically chose the Hyacinth flower as the image for this first blog post for a special reason.
Flowers have long carried deep meanings, but few are as rich in symbolism as the hyacinth. This fragrant bloom represents rebirth, renewal, and the start of new chapters, making it a perfect flower for fresh beginnings. But its meaning goes far beyond its beauty—its story is rooted in Greek mythology and ancient symbolism.
There are different versions of this story, but one goes:
Hyacinthus was a beautiful Spartan prince loved by the god Apollo. One day, while they were playing a game of discus, the jealous wind god Zephyrus blew Apollo’s throw off course, causing it to strike Hyacinthus fatally. Overcome with grief, Apollo refused to let Hades take him and instead transformed his spilled blood into a beautiful flower ”the hyacinth”so that his memory would live on forever.
A fitting flower for this new beginning I think.
